National Summer Games

Hamilton 8-12 Dec, 2021

Get excited, because next year Special Olympics New Zealand is bringing athletes, coaches and volunteers from across the country to the Waikato for the next National Summer Games in 2021, 8-12th December!

Following a 4-year cycle similar to the Olympics and Paralympics the National Summer Games is Special Olympics New Zealand’s largest national event and one of New Zealand’s largest multi-sport events.

This multi-day event will bring over 1,300 athletes, 450 coaches and up to 600 volunteers coming from all across New Zealand to compete in 4 days of competition in 11 sports across 9 venues to Hamilton, Waikato, in December 2021.

Volunteer for the National Summer Games!

Be a part of an amazing event, meet fantastic people, and help us provide the biggest national event for Special Olympics Athletes.

We are looking for 600 volunteers to help run the 2021 National Summer Games in roles including general event volunteers, sports officials, health professionals, photographers, IT experts and much more.
